The Music & Dance Scene, the focal point of the festival, entails of both live and Dj performances presenting hip hop, reggae, fusion electronic and electronic mixes from the console.

One of the central performances of the music will be an hour long jamming session which will be developed live on the day. Here, musicians of all kinds will come up on stage and follow the rhythm, creating both experimental and unique sounds.

Η μουσική σκηνή, όπου επικεντρώνεται το φεστιβάλ, περιλαμβάνει ζωντανές παραστάσεις και Djs από διάφορα είδη μουσικής όπως hip hop, reggae, fusion electronic και ηλεκτρονικά μιξαρίσματα.

Μια από τις κεντρικές μουσικές παρουσιάσεις θα είναι ένα ζωντανό jamming session – μια συγκέντρωση μουσικών ήχων – που θα διαρκέσει για δυο ώρες. Δημιουργοί από όλες τις μουσικές κατηγορίες θα βγουν πάνω στην σκηνή αρχίζοντας και συνεχίζοντας ένα αυτοσχέδιο ρυθμό, δημιουργώντας πειραματικούς και συνάμα μοναδικούς ήχους.

-Babamat

Babamat describes their music as “Live Electronic Noise and Stuff”. An experimental Cyprus group compiling and producing electronic and orchestrated music.

Οι Babamat περιγράφουν τη μουσική τους σαν “Live Electronic Noise and Stuff”. Μια πειραματική κυπριακή ομάδα που συλλέγουν και συνθέτουν ηλεκτρονική και ενορχηστρωμένη μουσική. Αποτελούνται από τους Μάριο Κυριάκου, Κωνσταντίνο Ευαγγελίδη και Μάριο Ανδρέου.

-DNA – hip hop Cyprus

DNA otherwise known as Dimioyrgoi Neas Antilipsis was created in 2002 by Andreas Constantinides (MegaHz) and Theodoro Varavara (Decayer). With a common love for music, and especially Hip-Hop, they took the decision to create a hip-hop group in Cyprus which would make a difference, since it would be based on the real hip-hop with quality music and serious lyrics and an aim to bring together not only hip-hop audiences but other music lovers of all ages.

Το συγκρότημα DNA ή αλλιώς Δημιουργοί Νέας Αντίληψης δημιουργήθηκε το 2002 από τον Ανδρέα Κωνσταντινίδη (MegaHz) και το Θεόδωρο Βαρνάβα (Decayer). Με κοινό συστατικό την αγάπη για την μουσική και ειδικά το hip-hop, πήραν την απόφαση να δημιουργήσουν ένα hip-hop συγκρότημα στην Κύπρο που θα έκανε τη διαφορά, αφού θα βασιζόταν σε ένα αληθινό hip-hop με ποιοτική μουσική και σοβαρούς στίχους. Σκοπός να μαζέψουν ένα κοινό – ανεξαρτήτως ηλικίας – όχι μόνο από το hip-hop, αλλά και από άλλα μουσικά ύφη.

-Funk Jelly & zodiac

Funk jelly comprising of the duo, yioti joans & theo will be your hosts in the dj booth mixing up a blend of sophisticated kinky nu jazz, bossa nova with lashings of funk and cool house. The duo having been on the dj circuit around the island decided to get together and promote their night with emphasis being on hip swinging uplifting lounge grooves with touches of retro thrown in for good measure=add to the mix zodiac who'll be on percussion to spice things up, funk jelly nights will truly be groovy.

Το δίδυμο Funk jelly (yioti joans & theo) θα είναι οι οικοδεσπότες σας στο dj booth, μιξάρωντας ένα μείγμα από sophisticated kinky nu jazz, bossa nova με ήχους από funk and cool house. Το δίδυμο δίνοντας το παρόν τους στους dj-κύκλους του νησιού αποφάσισαν να ενώσουν τις δυνάμεις τους προωθώντας τον ήχο τους με έμφαση στα hip swinging uplifting lounge grooves με αγγίγματα από ρετρό ανακατεμένα μαζί για μια καλή μεζούρα. Εδώ προστίθεται και ο mix zodiac που με τα κρουστά του, θα ανεβάσει τους ρυθμούς στους groovy ήχους των Funk Jelly.

-Harri Kakoulli / Χάρης Κακουλλή

Harri Kakoulli has been involved in writing, producing & mixing world music for the last fifteen years. He also has worked as an artist, writing & producing his own work. Harri produced, created & mixed the first two compilation albums Fuse 1 & Fuse 2 and recorded tracks as an artist, producer, engineer and writer under the name Loca with Natacha Atlas, Uzma and Zaharema for the legendary world music label Nation Records. Harri has produced, mixed & recorded tracks for the great King Sunny Ade, Talvin Singh, Aki Nawaz (Fundamental), Joi and the first four albums for the legendary Ukrainians. He worked for eight months in Nigeria with various artists and collected some unusual sounds for future projects. Since then he's been working on his own material in London and Cyprus. He is signed to Six Degrees Records (USA) Lad Records (Portugal) & Alien Temple.com (UK) At present he is recording his 5th album for Lad Records, and has a second release with Six Degrees Records.

Τα τελευταία 15 χρόνια ο Χάρης Κακουλλής ασχολείται με την σύνθεση, παραγωγή και το μιξάρισμα παγκόσμιας μουσικής. Σαν καλλιτέχνης ο Χάρης έχει κάνει τη σύνθεση και την παραγωγή δικής του δουλείας, όπως στα δυο πρώτα άλμπουμ Fuse 1 & Fuse 2. Έχει επίσης ηχογραφήσει κομμάτια σαν καλλιτέχνης, παραγωγός και συνθέτης με το ψευδώνυμο Loca. Έχει συνεργασθεί με την Natacha Atlas, την Uzma και την Zaharema για την θρυλική εταιρεία παγκόσμιας μουσικής παραγωγής Nation Records. Ο Χάρης έχει ηχογραφήσει, μιξάρει και ήτων παραγωγός σε κομμάτια για τον σπουδαίο King Sunny Ade, τους Talvin Singh, Aki Nawaz (Fundamental), Joi και των 4 πρώτων άλμπουμ των θρυλικών Ukrainians. Έχει εργαστεί για 8 μήνες στη Νιγηρία με διάφορους καλλιτέχνες και έχει συλλέξει διάφορους ασυνήθιστους ήχους για μελλοντικές εργασίες. Από τότε δουλεύει με το δικό του υλικό σε Λονδίνο και Κύπρο. Είναι μέλος του Six Degrees Records (ΗΠΑ) Lad Records (Πορτογαλία) & Alien Temple.com (Ηνωμένο Βασίλειο). Στο παρόν στάδιο ηχογραφεί το πέμπτο του άλμπουμ για το Lad Records και έχει κυκλοφορήσει το δεύτερη κυκλοφορία με το Six Degrees Records.

-Manni Gee & Phat Finxx

Phat Finxxx & Manni Gee's music style can be described as a soundtrack for a cheezy porn flick, yet with a really intricate story line.

Coming from a different backgounds, the 2 formed the Limassoul concept back in 2004 playing a eclectic mix of broken beat jazz, old school funk, dnb and elements of funked up house.

They premiered in Limassol at various bars regularly for the last 3 years, but its now time to expanding their audience in other towns as well! 

Seriously groovy stuff!

Το ύφος της μουσικής των Phat Finxxx & Manni Gee μπορεί να περιγραφτεί ως soundtrack για ένα cheezy porn flick, που έχει όμως μια πραγματικά περίπλοκη πλοκή.

Προερχόμενοι από διαφορετικές σχολές, οι δυο τους διαμόρφωσαν την έννοια Limassoul το 2004 παίζοντας ένα εκλεκτικό μείγμα broken beat jazz, old school funk, dnb και στοιχεία από funked up house.

Άρχισαν να παίζουν τακτικά στην Λεμεσό σε διάφορα μπαρ τα τελευταία 3 έτη, αλλά είναι καιρός να ευρύνουν το κοινό τους και σε άλλες πόλεις!

-Mike WildCut

Creator of the successful series of events named Soul Sonic Sessions, Mike WildCut (Michalis Theocharides) combines various types of soulful music unpredictable, innovative and wild mixes that will strike the curiosity of anyone. His selections consist of soul,funk,trip-hop,rap,reggae,80s,breaks and even some touches of Latin and drum n' bass. He started djaying for fun at the age of 16 but it was not until 5 years ago that he decided to take it much more seriously. He hopes to create something unique in the field of djaying in Cyprus but also he dreams of having the chance to play all over the globe. His set guarantees that will make everyone, even the shyest person, want to get down.

Δημιουργός μιας επιτυχημένης σειράς γεγονότων με το όνομα Soul Sonic Sessions, ο Mike WildCut (Mιxάλης Θεοχαρίδης) συνδυάζει διάφορα είδη μουσικής με απρόβλεπτο, πρωτοποριακό και αξιοπρόσεκτο μιξάρισμα κινώντας την περιέργεια και του πιο απαιτητικού ακροατή. Οι επιλογές του αποτελούνται από soul,funk,trip-hop,rap,reggae,80s,breaks με μερικά αγγίγματα από latin και drum n' bass.Ξεκίνησε ως Dj στο αστείο όταν ήταν 16 ετών όμως τελικά αποφάσισε να το πάρει περισσότερο σοβαρά πριν από 5 χρόνια. Ελπίζει να δημιουργήσει κάτι μοναδικό για τα κυπριακά δεδομένα και ονειρεύεται ότι κάποτε θα έχει την ευκαιρία να παίξει σε πολλά μέρη του κόσμου. Το set του εγγυάται ότι θα κάνει όλους, ακόμα και τους πιο ντροπαλούς, να θέλουν να χορέψουν.

-Sofoz MC

Sofoz started as a Greek-rapping MC and became know mostly to the funs of Cyprus hip hop scene. He represented the Cypriot hip hop scene in a few countries abroad, with other internationally famous groups and won the Kingston price of the best rapper of Cyprus in 2004. Since then, no other Kingston competitions were organized. His lyrics talk about social issues or everyday experiences, love, dance, rejection etc. Today, the music he produces is more experimental, although in some occasions it includes rapping and elements of other music genres. For this festival though, he only raps.

Ο Σοφός MC, όπως είναι γνωστός με το καλλιτεχνικό του όνομα, κάνει ραπ στα Ελληνικά (και Κυπριακή διάλεκτο) και είναι ένας από τους γνωστότερους Κύπριους ράπερ. Έχει αντιπροσωπεύσει το κυπριακό ραπ στο εξωτερικό με παγκόσμια καταξιωμένους μουσικούς στο χώρο της ραπ και όχι μόνο. Από το 2004 που έχει κερδίσει τον διαγωνισμόKingston σαν ο καλύτερος ράπερ της Κύπρου δεν έχει γίνει άλλος διαγωνισμός Kingston. Οι στίχοι του ασχολούνται με κοινωνικά θέματα και θέματα καθημερινότητας, όπως ο έρωτας, η απογοητεύσεις, ο χορός κτλ. Σήμερα, η μουσική που δημιουργεί είναι πλέον πιο πειραματική, παρόλο που σε διάφορες περιπτώσεις συμπεριλαμβάνει ραπ και στοιχειά από άλλα μουσικά είδη. Για το φεστιβάλ αυτό όμως, επιλέγει να είναι καθαρά ραπ.

-Jam Session

A group of local musicians from various musical genres will gather for an one hour jam session. A jam session is a musical act where musicians gather and play without extensive preparation or predefined arrangements.

Μια ομάδα από ντόπιους μουσικούς από διάφορα μουσικά ύφη θα μαζευτεί για ένα μονόωρο jam session, μια μουσική πράξη όπου οι μουσικοί μαζεύονται και παίζουν χωρίς εκτεταμένη προετοιμασία ή προκαθορισμένες ρυθμίσεις.
