Στη νέα της δουλειά με τίτλο « Ένα φιλικό περιβάλλον», η καλλιτέχνης Μάρλεν Καρλετίδου επιχειρεί να καθορίσει το συγκεκριμένο περιβάλλον μέσα από την εικόνα.

Η εικόνα δεν προκαθορίζεται αλλά κτίζεται σταδιακά, σαν μια κινηματογραφική ταινία χωρίς σενάριο. Όλοι οι πίνακες αρχίζουν και ολοκληρώνονται μαζί.

Οι αρχικές σκέψεις για το τι είναι ένα φιλικό περιβάλλον ανατρέπονται στην πορεία της δημιουργίας. Φωτογραφίες – ντοκουμέντα ενσωματώνονται στα έργα θέτοντας τα δικά τους ερωτήματα.

Τα στοιχεία της φύσης, λιτά και συμβολικά, απεικονίζουν την πολυτιμότητα της ύπαρξης τους.

Η γάτα, ζώο φιλικό προς τον άνθρωπο, συμβολίζει άλλοτε τον ήλιο και άλλοτε το φεγγάρι και την γονιμότητα στη ζωή. Είναι η βασική πρωταγωνίστρια στα πλάνα των έργων, όπου με την παρουσία της παρατηρεί και αφηγείται σιωπηλά.

Η ανθρώπινη παρουσία που υπάρχει στη σύνθεση των έργων, γράφει τη δική της ιστορία και στέλλει τα δικά της μηνύματα.

Η εικόνα ζωγραφίζεται σε ύφασμα ταπετσαρίας διπλής όψης, όπου άλλοτε χρησιμοποιείται από τη βιολετί όψη του και άλλοτε από την όψη με τα γήινα χρώματα. Το χρώμα του υφάσματος αναδεικνύεται σε σχέση και σε συνεχή διάλογο με την εικόνα. Τα χρώματα είναι ακρυλικά και συνδυάζονται με μικτές τεχνικές; Κολάζ – ύφασμα / φωτογραφία και κέντημα.

The new work by the artist Marlen Karletidou under the title Transition, is one of a matured painter whose thoughts and problems concerning opportune matters create the image direct, with fantasy and unexpected surrealistic elements. People, butterflies, birds, animals and psychic creatures mix and mingle, play and dream in a continuous flow of movement.

The idea of the artwork came out at the moment of the opening between the two parts of Nicosia, North and south, at Ledra Pallas barricade. At that point, which the painter named The Little UN Blue and White House, many kinds of feelings, emotions and meetings came up in a concentrated moment giving singularity in the place, space and time.
All these images were the beginning for the new paintings. Painted on red jeans with acrylic colors, sometimes using mixed materials, the pictures take us away, exploding in unusual red until we discover a new light and a new reality we can sink in it and dream.

The 3D Caravan of the Butterflies fills the seven paintings in the exhibition room and stands as well as an installation of its own. The Caravan with the Butterflies and the many mirrors symbolizes the eternal journey of the souls. Nature's elements such as butterflies, birds and flowers, and symbols of our subconcious world derive from the seven paintings. The transiition is completed in many different ways, but the spectator's participation is necessary.
